WOAH MAN.... We Are in B.C!!!
How life can change in a heartbeat!!! Last that we planned, we were thinking of heading down to the west coast of LAX.... but we settled for Vancouver instead. West enough for ya? We thought so!!!
So, it has been a while, and trust me we have missed you all... But trust us, THE MUSIC WILL NEVER DIE!
In the transition from Toronto - Vancouver, we have to leave behind the talented, Craig Koziar. Craig was with us for almost 6 months after Pasha and me pieced this band back together.
But we are ever so glad we did!!!
Already after just two jam sessions here in B.C, we have 2 new songs in the works, and we are making some serious plans to finish the demo we promised!!!
This demo will have 4 songs on it - the best of the last 6 months of hard work among the 15 new songs we had to choose from.
We are currently seeking a new drummer to join the fun... even though it will be tough to replace you Craig!!
I am situated downtown Vancouver in the West End, which is a huge different lifestyle for me! I went from the suburbs of Richmond Hill, Ontario to the busy and lively streets of downtown Van. Pasha is renting a room in a house with a group of REALLY SUPER COOL PEOPLE who don't mind that we transformed one of the spare rooms in the basement into our new jam room. The walls are lined with old records, there is gear wall to wall, so it has the perfect vibe for creativity!
Next up for us? Keep jamming and finally work on a new episode of BEING THE BAND.... Oh yeahhhhh, remember that channel? We just did too! hehe!

SEASONS GREETINGS... Or Happy December... or It's freakin' Getting COLD Outside...!!!!!!
Hey y'all, Carm here!!!
Think we forgot about you, huh? Not a chance in hellz!
So here is what you need to know!!
Forgetting All I Know has just finished filming episode 3 of "Being the Band!" If you haven't seen any of the webisodes, you can click HERE! Make sure to check back on this You Tube channel from time to time, as we are always up to something... usually something no good, but that is for YOU to judge! *muahaha*
This holiday season is busy for everyone, but especially in the FAIK Laboratories... We have now put together enough songs for a brand new CD!!! Translation: more than 30 mins of Forgetting All I Know goodness for your auditory enjoyment. Over the next few months, we will be working on perfecting our material because you better believe that you will be able to catch FAIK live in the new year!
*Sounds of applause!*
All these awesome things are happening because we have stolen Pasha back from his travels. He is now tied to his guitar amp in my basement, but don't worry, I feed him cookies and ice cream once a day to make sure he doesn't die. Hygiene, optional.
But no kidding, two weeks without band practice last month was almost the death of me. I felt this huge void in my life *tear* that you just can't dismiss jamming by yourself.
Personally, I'm pretty sure I am suffering from writer's block. But I remain optimistic and know that one day, in the middle of trying to fall asleep, I will start dreaming up the most randomly awesome lyrics... and just as we warned you in our last webisode, WRITE THAT SH*T DOWN ASAP.
.... Maybe I should take my own advice. *Le sigh*
If you missed our last episode, focusing on Song Writing, check it out HERE!
Thanks for checking in, and until NEXT TIME....!

There She Croaks
Hey y'all, Carm here!
I have been home-ridden for the last few days. Yup, it's flu season in North America, and we have been getting some very strange weather in Toronto. As most of you are probably aware, we had some left over winds come in last night from "Sandy".
As a result of the weather change, I have contracted a nice little flu. Good for me right? For sure! But this blog entry is going to focus on the life of the vocalist when sick. I just want to share some tips from the one and only, ME!
Ok so you are feeling a bit stuffed up are we? Here are some tips:
- Hey! Don't sing or speak if you don't have to! Yeah, it's a bit difficult, I know, because personally, I can't shut up for a second.
- Make sure you are drinking a LOT of liquids, not just the hot stuff like tea, because caffeinated beverages like tea and coffee, though good for you in most cases, can dry up your vocal cords even more.
- Protect your throat, this is your baby, your instrument. This is a good time to bust out your winter scarfs and rock them hard.
- Nasal spray is your friend. Help clear up your sinuses if they are bothering you by increasing your sprays to twice a day instead of once (so once in the morning, and once before you go to sleep).
- Do you have a humidifier? You know, one of those things that makes steam? Well lock yourself in your room or a small space for a few hours and soak in the moisture.
- Don't smoke! If you are a singer, you shouldn't smoke regardless! Unless the raspy voice is what you are a going for.
- Natural foods such as honey, ginger, and lemon are your best friend. (Thank you Seth from the Tricky Ones for reminding me of this one!)
These tips aren't a "all in all" cure for you, but they will help you refrain from further damaging your vocal cords during your sickness. You need to let all the liquids that are blocking your breathing/nasal system clear out because trying to hit those notes during this time will cause a LOT of strain.
So, that is where I am right now. Trying not to strain the cords. It kind of sucks being sick. I had to cancel band practice, and well, spend more time cooped up at home.
You know you heart your band when you miss them when you have to miss band practice! <3
And well, as my latest entry says, I have a lot to learn, especially with my newly acquired bass!
So okay, I took today off, but tomorrow, regardless of my state of being, I need to get back to work. I can't sing right now, so I'll pick up the bass. At least I can learn those parts better so I can start training myself to sing and play bass when I am better.
I'm excited for the challenge, so this damn cold needs to take a hike!
'Til next time!
